Trawlerboys hoping to return to action after postponements

Trawlerboys hoping to return to action after postponements

Lowestoft set to host Walthamstow on Saturday - weather permitting

Lowestoft Town face the prospect of six games in the space of 21 days this month after recent bad weather hit their scheduled fixtures.

With their previous two away games having been postponed, these matches have now been rescheduled for midweek in January.

And it means a busy spell of action for Andy Reynolds men.

After Lowestoft's planned trip to fourth placed Wroxham last Saturday fell foul of the snowy conditions that decimated the local sporting scene, Lowestoft will be looking to bounce back and start the new year in style.

Lowestoft's opening Pitching In Isthmian League North Division game of 2026 - weather permitting - is now due to take place at home tomorrow (Saturday).

The Trawlerboys, in 16th position, are set to host 17th placed Walthamstow - who are a point and a place behind The Trawlerboys having played a game more - on Saturday, January 10 at Crown Meadow.

With the Wroxham and Takeley away games having been rescheduled, The Trawlerboys will now collide with The Yachtsmen - who are currently in fourth place - at Trafford Park next Tuesday, January 13 (7.45pm KO).

Andy Reynolds men then host 15th placed Mildenhall Town - who are three points and a place ahead of Lowestoft having played a game less - at Crown Meadow on January 17.

The rearranged 218-mile round trip to face 20th placed Takeley - previously postponed due to a waterlogged pitch - is now earmarked for Tuesday, January 20 (7.45pm KO).

A further two league matches then follow at the end of the month - with the tough task of successive games against sides that are currently first and third in the table.

Lowestoft head to Essex on Saturday, January 24 to face league leaders Maldon & Tiptree.

The month's scheduled action then concludes on Saturday, January 31 at Crown Meadow as Lowestoft host third placed Waltham Abbey.
