Lowestoft Ladies begin their NWGFL League Cup campaign this Sunday 11th October with a trip to fellow Division One side Aylsham.
The fixture will see Lowestoft return to the scene of their title win last season when a 4-3 win on 26th April this year saw the Trawler Girls secure the Division One title.
That afternoon was a topsy-turvy encounter with Lowestoft leading the game 3-0 before Aylsham pulled the game right back to 3-3 before Selina Rowland scored the winner to make it 4-3 and secure the title.
Coincidentally this trip to Aylsham will see a welcome return of Selina Rowland who is available for selection for Lowestoft manager Iain Spoor following her red card on the final day of last season at Mulbarton in May.
Lowestoft come into the game following last weeks encounter at Shrublands which saw Lowestoft make it two wins out of two in the league with a 3-1 win.
When Aylsham play, goals are scored, their competitive fixtures have averaged 8.75 goals per game so far with an astonishing 35 goals in four fixtures. Their most notable results being a 4-3 opening day win at home to Hickling after being 3-0 down and their 11-5 win also at home to UEA in the County Cup.
It promises to be another hard-fought encounter just as it was in April. The winners will progress to round 2 with the losers dropping into the NWGFL Plate Competition.
The game is on Sunday 11th October with a 2.30pm kick off at Aylsham's Youngs Park ground, postcode NR11 6FJ.
All support is welcome for the Ladies.
Up the Trawler Girls!
