FIRST TEAM SQUAD UPDATE
Issued 18/09/2026
With the season now well underway, we wanted to give our supporters a quick update on the current first-team squad.
We’ve had a challenging few weeks with a small squad, compounded by a number of injuries and some administration challenges. Here’s where things currently stand:
SAM HOWELL
Sammy has been making good progress with the ankle injury that has kept him out. We’re hopeful he’ll be available to get some minutes in Tuesday’s fixture.
BAILEY SUTTON
Bailey picked up a knock while training with the college programme. He’ll be assessed again on Saturday to determine the extent of the injury. Early indications are that it shouldn’t be a long-term issue.
JACK HERBERT
Jack continues to manage his body following the knock he picked up during pre-season and has recently aggravated his ankle. There is no long-term injury, but we’ll continue to manage him carefully over the coming weeks.
RIO ABODUNDE
Great news for Rio, who has now returned to full action following the injury he sustained in our opening-day fixture against Cambridge City. It’s fantastic to have him back available.
NEW SIGNINGS
Behind the scenes, the management team are currently in negotiations with several potential new additions to the squad.
We’re working hard to get those deals over the line and, as soon as we’re able to release further details, we’ll share them with you.
From Management Team.
