A New League Campaign Begins

Today’s fixture marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Lowestoft Town’s player pathway and the first league match since the launch of the club’s new paid Scholarship Programme. The scholars officially began their full-time programme on Monday, combining their education at Access Sport College with daily football development, training, analysis and physical preparation. After several weeks of pre-season work, the group will now have its first opportunity to test itself in competitive U19 league action.

Looking to Go One Step Further

Lowestoft enjoyed an excellent National League U19 Alliance campaign last season, eventually finishing as joint runners-up. A new-look group will now aim to build upon those foundations and establish its own identity throughout the 2026/27 season. The Young Blues enter the fixture with confidence after a productive pre-season, while several members of the squad have already gained experience with the Lowestoft Town First Team during the opening weeks of the senior campaign.

Today’s Opposition

Barking return to the National League U19 Alliance following a one-year absence and will be looking to make a positive start on home soil. Lowestoft have enjoyed a strong recent record on their travels to Barking. The Young Blues recorded a 4–1 victory there two years ago, with Ashton Blogg scoring twice, having also secured a dramatic 2–1 win the previous season through a late Dan Drage header. Those previous results will count for little when the two new groups meet this afternoon, but they should give Lowestoft confidence heading into the opening contest.
