YOUNG BLUES LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK WITH A TRIP TO ROMFORD FC!
After a great recent run of form which saw the Trawler Boys go six unbeaten, it was one step too far when they faced Billericay last week, narrowly losing 5-4. The Blues are looking to bounce back on the road when they travel to Romford on Wednesday. This will be the fourth consecutive away game in a very demanding spell for the group. The squad will see a few changes due to fixture clashes with the Lowestoft Reserves playing on the same day. They will be coming up against a free scoring Romford FC who beat the Blues 7-5 at the Fosters Solicitors Community Stadium earlier on in the season. As the table currently stands, Lowestoft are just four points behind Romford having played a game more.
ROMFORD FC
Romford currently sit sixth in the National Youth Alliance League Division A table with hopes of still gaining a top four spot come the end of the season. Last season they ended mid-table with a lot of players in their first year of the programme. With some inconsistent results this season halting the champions push, they have still shown they can compete, with victories against Bishop's Stortford and Billericay Town. Romford danger man Alvin Smeraldi, who was unavailable in the reverse fixture with Lowestoft, will be looking to add to his sixteen goals in twelve games this Wednesday.
RECENT FORM
Looking over the last six games, Lowestoft sit second in form table with three wins, two draws and a defeat. They go into the game off slightly better form with Romford winning two, drawing one and losing three. Both teams have had good victories of late with Lowestoft beating Dagenham & Redbridge twice alongside Barking away. Romford have overcome Billericay Town and Norwich City in that time.
