Lowestoft leave it little too late in high scoring affair at Billericay Town FC.

Lowestoft Town U19's were on the road once again, visiting Billericay Town in the National Youth Alliance League. The game began with the Trawler Boys being rewarded for their pre-match preparation inside just a minute when Lewis Norbury cut inside from the left and curled the ball into the top corner. An excellent individual goal from Lewis who is continuing his fine goal scoring form. Unfortunately, the lead was only held for a few minutes as danger man Bobby Kelman broke away from the defence to slot home. It was that man again with two further goals in the first half leaving the blues with a two-goal deficit at half time. Lowestoft came out in the second half much improved and came close to getting back in the game when Fletcher Littlechild struck the crossbar from inside the area. The Trawler Boys were pushing for the next goal and with players committed forward, Bobby Kelman broke for Billericay once again, this time squaring to Joshua Godfrey who made no mistake from six yards. The hosts added a further goal on the hour mark, with another clinical finish from inside the area. The score was harsh on the young blues who never gave up and got themselves a goal back after Freddie Simmons hit a sweet shot into the top corner from 25 yards. It was all Lowestoft in the final twenty and when Coby Lee bundled another goal in for the blues it was game on. The Trawler Boys kept pushing and got another goal just before injury time when Coby Lee once again pounced on a Billericay mistake to slot in. Lowestoft pushed for the final two minutes for the equalising goal but had left too big of a mountain to climb with the game finishing 5-4 to Billericay Town. The Lowestoft team once again featured four U16's from the Centre Of Excellence who showed great quality when involved. Up next for the blues is a trip to Romford in their final away game of the season.
