Lowestoft Town will head out on their travels for two away games in the space of four days in the week ahead.
They will hit the road for the long journey to Leicestershire tomorrow (Saturday) looking to recover from back-to-back home defeats over the past week.
Andy Reynolds men are set for a round trip of almost 300 miles as they travel to Market Harborough in Leicestershire on Saturday.
The Trawlerboys are set to face eighth placed Harborough Town tomorrow, with The Bees in fine form over the past eight matches - having won six, lost one and drawn their last game at league leaders AFC Telford last Saturday.
Lowestoft - who beat Harborough 1-0 at home in October with a late Harvey Sayer goal - have dropped into the bottom four in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central Division after two narrow defeats in the past week.
The busy spell continues with a rearranged midweek game next Tuesday, February 11 as Lowestoft make the 240-mile round trip to Bedfordshire for the rescheduled game against bottom of the table Biggleswade Town after it had previously been postponed.
Despite a fine showing last Saturday against third placed Stratford Town, goals from McCone (41) and Williams (87) sealed victory for The Bards although Sam Johnson (90+5) gave Lowestoft late hope.
An all-Suffolk midweek derby saw AFC Sudbury go above The Trawlerboys in the table after the visitors triumphed 1-3 on Tuesday night.
After falling 0-2 behind in the opening 30 minutes Lowestoft hit back and Joe Duffy headed home in the 32nd minute.
The Trawlerboys went close to an equaliser and hit the post before Cowling sealed the win for Sudbury with a fine 54th minute strike.
With Lowestoft in 19th position following this defeat, Blues boss Andy Reynolds said after the game: "I think in reality we knew how big tonight was as an outcome.
"Not necessarily season defining either way, but definitely a huge impact on what the remainder of the season looks like for both sides.
"So, from that perspective the outcome is a really poor outcome and when you reflect on the game really poor moments from us contribute to our downfall.
"And that's always disappointing because to give yourself a fighting chance against any team in this division you have got to do your basics right - and we haven't.
"We've given ourselves a massive task (falling 0-2 behind).
"Credit the boys though they finished the first half the more dominant, the better team and would have/should have/could have again (got back into it) with the opportunities and chances that we had and did not take, and hit the post.
"And then even at the end we are still trying to knock on the door and we're still trying to find a way through.
"We have a great opportunity (late on) that would have given us a few minutes to throw a 'hail mary,' but we'll come off fundamentally knowing that all of the bits that we are meant to contribute to a game we probably have not done ourselves justice tonight."
Of winger Joao Rangel having to come off injured in the second half, Reynolds said: "Joao had to come off - he had a bit of a niggle in his hip when he came in at half time.
"Obviously he was a threat, he was carrying a real threat and you could tell that it wasn't just at the same level in the second half as it was in the first.
"So rather than lose another one for Saturday, and possibly beyond, it was a case of having a little shuffle around by getting him off to start his recovery process so that he is ready for the next fixtures.
"It was not a sub we necessarily wanted to make, but we need to make it just at that moment as a precaution."
