Lowestoft Town are gearing up for a hectic festive spell of five games over the next 14 days.
And Blues boss Andy Reynolds admitted that after a "disjointed" period that saw them play twice in a 21-day spell in November, they now are preparing for a run of games that is set to test the squad.
Reynolds said: "We'd spoken last time about it being a bit stop-start since I took over, well it has been disjointed in the games we were due to play since then and that probably leads to us being a bit disjointed.
"We are preparing for a busy spell and we have to deal with it the best we can."
Reflecting on the past month, Reynolds said: "Coming off the back of the first two league games, the Leiston Suffolk Premier Cup tie was important to show a bit of character and to be better defensively, and we did that.
"We carried a threat in attack and had good efforts saved as we created chances and kept their keeper busy.
"And while we came out on the wrong side of a narrow 2-1 defeat it was a step forward - not perhaps where we want to be in terms of results, but we were tough to break down, we worked their goalkeeper more than they did ours and fundamentally it was down to them putting the ball in the net.
"We then carried that on at Banbury United and picked up a fine 2-0 away win."
The long trip to Oxfordshire kickstarted a hectic festive spell - with The Trawlerboys shining at Banbury.
It began a run of eight matches in 35 days, and two goals from Joe Duffy - in the ninth and 93rd minutes - sealed a fantastic win that marked the first of Blues boss Andy Reynolds' reign.
In a game Lowestoft dominated for arguably their best away victory of the season, after the win, Reynolds said: "I thought we were brilliant and the boys are absolutely buzzing.
"We went into it with a gameplan that we executed well.
"From start to finish we won the ball in areas we set up to win the ball and we always carried a threat.
"On the balance of the game we thoroughly deserved the win.
"I think if you go away and they are having to make substitutions and change formation at half time then that shows the control we had on the game.
"We scored two good goals and it was a great day - now we have just got to put runs together."
Last time out at the Fosters Solicitors Community Stadium clash with bottom of the table Biggleswade Town, Lowestoft recovered from falling an early goal behind to lead 2-1 at the interval.
Izekor put The Waders ahead on four minutes, but Joe Duffy equalised in the 11th minute for his third goal in two games.
Harvey Sayer then put Lowestoft ahead from the penalty spot in the 21st minute, before Izekor hit his second of the night in the 71st minute as it ended all square.
Reynolds said: "After our two previous displays (against Leiston and away at Banbury) when we have looked at all the information available to us it was clear we were not at where we were previously.
"Its a shame as we were at home and we need to make Crown Meadow a real tough place to come and play for teams, to create an atmosphere for the opposition and give our fans lots to cheer.
"An injury in the game to Sam Johnson saw us lose a little bit of momentum in central areas and we could just not get out game going like it was with our previous performances.
"We came away with a point but it was a performance we needed to put right - and then comes another break in games.
"Jake Reed has been a great servant for this club. His own circumstances have been affected this year and we had a good honest chat in the first couple of days of me being here where I set out the direction I want us to go in.
"We wish him all the best as he been fantastic for Lowestoft.
"We have to take a positive from it now - we have seen and know what Jake Reed can do on any given day, and now we have to build an identity with this group.
"We thank Jake for his unbelievable goalscoring record and all his hard work over the years - now we said about wanting people to step up and Joe Duffy has definitely done that.
"Gabe has too with some good performances up front, Harvey scored and provided the assist last time out at home and Kyle scored at the weekend - we need players to step up, carry a threat and drive us forward.
"As long as someone does the business - not necessarily one player - that is what is important."
A first trip away to Bedford Town last Saturday saw Lowestoft begin a run of nine league matches in 31 days.
They got off to an ideal start as Duffy hit his fourth goal in three games, before Kyle Haylock's strike saw them move 1-2 ahead at the interval.
But two goals in the space of three second half minutes turned the game, with Bedford adding a late fourth.
Reynolds said: "We were in complete control of the game.
"We were in such a commanding position, then around the 60 minute mark It was a combination of a really poor couple of decisions - firstly an error from an official where there goalkeeper hits a long ball forward and they have a couple of players offside up front and then we did not deal with it as they equalise.
"We then rush a goal kick before we are ready and then they score a goal to take the lead.
"What we have to take from this is that we can't let decisions affect us when we're in control and looking to get over the line in games.
"We can't let a situation like this, when something goes against us, impact us in that moment of the game."
Lowestoft will now embark on a very busy festive schedule.
It will see three games played in seven days in December - starting today at home to St Ives, ahead of a Boxing Day derby day clash away at Leiston on Thursday, with an earlier 1pm kick off, and a home encounter next Saturday with Barwell to complete this month's action.
Another all-Suffolk derby will kickstart 2025 in style, as Lowestoft host AFC Sudbury at the Fosters Solicitors Community Stadium on Wednesday, January 1 (New Year's Day).
Two home games and two away trips then follow in a 10-day spell in early January, which is currently scheduled to see The Trawlerboys play seven games next month.
With the loan deal for Norwich City Academy defender Alfie Doy having now ended, Reynolds said: "Travis has been missing with some family issues, Josh Hazell is still injured and Sam Johnson is tough and go for Saturday after picking up an ankle injury after a cynical foul.
"Sam is probably our only doubt, but we are continuing to speak to some clubs about the possibility of bringing players in and there are conversations ongoing.
"We are trying to make sure we can add the right players for the long term - not just a short term - as we look to bring them in until the summer and beyond.
"We are also speaking to existing players about renewing deals as we want to show our intent going forwards - and hopefully we can move that on over the Christmas period as we look to give our supporters a nice festive present.
"It is a busy festive period but we know what it is coming and we have to deal with that.
"The lads know we will be using everyone
"Our supporters can also play their part over the festive campaign as we have some big matches to come - Suffolk derbies and big crowds - so we hope our fans can show patience while bringing their voices and backing over the coming games to roar us on as everyone comes together and we look to secure as many points as we can.
"It is a privilege to play in front of so many really big gates over the festive period - so we have to turn up and really give it our all.
"The table as it is, well it is probably as competitive as I have seen it for a number of years.
"At half time last Saturday, when we 2-1 up, we were three points off the play-offs.
"When the game finished we were fifth bottom, and then after the midweek games we are now in the bottom four with a game in hand.
"We now have run of games against sides in mid table, and we know we have to look after ourselves and make sure we are right and ready for each game as it comes.
"First and foremost we have to all be really clear on focussing on ourselves, doing what we do and putting it right out there on the pitch.
"We know that all the games in this league are really tough and Saturday at home to St Ives marks a first double of the season - the start of reverse fixtures against teams we've already played this campaign.
"St Ives will be really tough. Ricky (Marheineke, their manager) does a brilliant job and their teamsheet every year is completely different.
"They will be well organised, will know their jobs and they will certainly be a tough opposition.
"We need to be tough to breakdown, to have hunger and desire to do well and start showing a bit of that mentality.
"The Suffolk derbies thereafter will have that little extra bit of spice - with Leiston on Boxing Day and AFC Sudbury on New Year's Day.
"We will have to go to Leiston on Thursday, deal with what will be a big crowd and a great atmosphere - all those things - as we come up against players we know well with lots of experience.
"We know we need to do the simple things well and concentrate on us as the games come quickly in the run ahead.
"Myself, the club officials and players hope all our supporters and everyone has a happy and healthy Christmas and New Year.
"I hope that everyone within the club, our community and those that come along and supports us have a great Christmas."
