Something for the weekend?

Something for the weekend?

Paul Whitlow

A creative opportunity to contribute

I am, by some mischance, the webmaster of the Lowestoft Town FC website.
It is important that everything on the website is officially approved by the Directors (Committee as was) or at least nodded at in approval. However, I would like to give supporters a space to be creative, in a supportive not detrimental way. Every couple of months, as long as there is a response, I would like to set an idea running.
The first is this.
What would you like to do now which would enable the supporters of the future in 30 years time to continue to find the enjoyment we find in standing around on match-day talking to friends and occasionally commenting on the play. They could be your young daughters, sons, godchildren or friends (or if you are nearer to my age your grandchildren, great-nieces etc.:)
I first came to the Meadow in 1968 or 69, sitting with friends at the age of 14 in the old stand which later burned down, No computers, of course, no mobile phone. Word of mouth and the Lowestoft Journal for information about our league position and our opponents.
Although there are a lot of memories in the past* I don't want to look back today, I want to know what you would like to put in place for the future of our Club, for future supporters.
Please join in, in prose, a story, a poem, a painting or other graphic, or even in an algebraic formula.
You will retain the copyright of your work, but we will have the right to submit your contributions to “the press” and for publication in the match-day programme.
Email paul.whitlow@talk21.com with the title “In 30 years”

* 30 years? It's not quite 30 years since Micky Chapman stopped playing, and just over 30 years since a Lowestoft and Crystal Palace supporter (R.I.P. Gordon) was in all the newspapers (four rows back).
