Access Sport College welcomed its new cohorts for their induction week, and it was fantastic to see the latest group of students beginning to settle into college life. The week gave the new starters an opportunity to meet their classmates and staff, familiarise themselves with the programme and prepare for the beginning of their full-time education and football timetable.

FA Youth Cup Preparations

Lowestoft Town U18s returned to training on Tuesday ahead of their FA Youth Cup Preliminary Round fixture against Downham Town. Alongside their work on the pitch, the players completed an opposition analysis meeting. The group reviewed Downham’s strengths, identified potential areas to exploit and ensured they were fully prepared for the challenge awaiting them at Crown Meadow.

Late Drama at Crown Meadow

Wednesday evening saw the competitive campaign begin—and it did so in dramatic fashion. The Young Blues twice came from behind to defeat Downham Town U18s 3–2, with Dexter Lee’s stoppage-time header sending the players, staff and supporters into jubilation. Logan Longmore initially equalised after four minutes before Gabriel Hind made it 2–2 with an excellent strike in the 80th minute. With the contest entering its final moments, Callum Lake delivered a looping corner which Lee headed home at the front post to secure Lowestoft’s place in the next round. An attendance of 126 helped create a fantastic atmosphere under the lights, and we would like to thank everyone who came to Crown Meadow to support the players. We would also like to thank Gary Bennett and Lauren Lou Storage Facilities for sponsoring the fixture and supporting our young players.

First Qualifying Round Draw

Lowestoft have been handed another home tie in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Youth Cup. The Young Blues will welcome Haverhill Rovers U18s to Crown Meadow on Wednesday 16 September 2026. The support throughout Wednesday’s victory made a genuine difference to the players, and we will need the town behind the group once again as they compete for a place in the next round. Please do your best to come along and cheer on the Young Blues.

Scholars Attend Media Afternoon

On Friday, the scholars came together at Crown Meadow for an important afternoon ahead of the new season. The players received their Scholarship Agreements and First Team registration forms before taking part in an official media shoot. Individual photographs were captured in both the home and away kits before the group came together for their official team photos. The afternoon represented another significant milestone for the new Scholarship Programme, with the players now ready to begin their full-time training schedule.

Two More Scholars Announced

We were delighted to officially announce Bailey Sutton and Callum Kemp as the latest additions to our 2026/27 Scholarship Programme. Both players have already been involved with the Lowestoft Town First Team this season and have now agreed their scholarship deals for the upcoming campaign. Bailey and Callum are two fantastic young players with bright futures, and we look forward to supporting their continued development both on and off the pitch.

U19 League Campaign Begins

The scholars officially return to their full-time programme on Monday, with preparations beginning for the opening fixture of the National League U19 Alliance season. Lowestoft Town U19s travel to face Barking FC U19s on Wednesday 9 September, with kick-off at 2pm. The Young Blues will be looking to go one step further this season after finishing as joint runners-up during the 2025/26 campaign. Barking return to the league following a one-year absence, but Lowestoft have enjoyed a strong recent record on their travels there. The Young Blues recorded a 4–1 victory at Barking two years ago, including a brace from Ashton Blogg, having also won 2–1 there the previous season through a late Dan Drage header. A new group will now have the opportunity to begin creating its own memories as another National League campaign gets underway.
