The Lowestoft Ladies made it a league and cup double winning season on Sunday, beating Royston Town 3-1 in the League Cup Final.

Lowestoft travelled to Soham Town Rangers FC to play Royston Town in the League Cup final and took a few minutes to find their feet. However, it wasn't long before they opened the scoring when on thirteen minutes Lowestoft won their first corner, which was very well taken by Chloe Hoffman and Natasha Thomas soared high in the area to expertly steer her header into the top left hand corner of the net.
Lowestoft's second goal came from their second corner of the match and was another well taken corner from Chloe Hoffman, finding Zoe Cossey whose effort on goal found Paige Shorten, who found the net from close range.
Other good efforts from Marcie Prettyman, Hannah Waters and Zoe Cossey were well saved by the Royston keeper who was having an inspired game.
Royston then reduced the arrears in the thirty-seventh minute when Amber Rowland was closed down quickly and dispossessed on the edge of the box, with the Royston striker took her opportunity well with a sharp left foot effort to make it 2-1

The second half saw Lowestoft start very strongly with Natasha Thomas and Hannah Waters both being denied in the first two minutes of the half.
Zoe Cossey was then denied three times in the space of fifteen minutes by some exceptional saves from the Royston keeper.
The all important third goal came for Lowestoft when a great driven volleyed cross from Chloe Hoffman found Natasha Thomas who displayed great technique and smashed home her volleyed effort from eight yards out for 3-1.
Zoe Cossey, Hannah Waters, Paige Shorten and Paige Baker were all thwarted again by the Royston keeper, who was deservedly awarded the Player of the Match award for some great saves but it was Lowestoft's day with a 3-1 victory.

A league and cup double for the Lowestoft Ladies is a great reward for the teams efforts this season and thoroughly deserved.
Thanks to ERWFL for organising a very well run day, Soham Town for hosting the event and providing the after match refreshments and the three officials who all officiated superbly and enthusiastically.
The final thanks goes to all the fans who came and cheered the team on to a thoroughly deserved victory. It is greatly appreciated.
