Lowestoft Town Ladies host the University of East Anglia in their first home league game of the season on Sunday at Crown Meadow.

Incredibly, by the time Sunday's game arrives 203 days would have past since Lowestoft last played a home league game back on 29th March which was the first day of British Summer time.

One week out from the next clock change, Lowestoft will play their first home league game as reigning champions but will be fully aware of the size of this task and the challenge a game against the University holds.

Three close encounters between the teams in 2025/2026 saw Lowestoft triumph on every occasion, Lowestoft have fond memories as UEA provided the opposition for the first competitive Lowestoft game since their re-birth in Summer 2025 which saw the Trawler Girls win 3-1. There was a cup win at Crown Meadow by the same score a month later before Lowestoft narrowly won the reverse league game 2-1 at Colney Lane in February this year.

This seasons league encounters which are both due to take place in the next six weeks, the away game scheduled to take place on 29th November but UEA visit Crown Meadow this Sunday in the seasons first encounter between the teams.

With UEA's annual influx of new students but their consistent ability to be competitive any fixture against the University provides a tough contest.

Lowestoft come into the game bang in form having won 7-1 at Aylsham last Sunday in the Norfolk Women and Girls League Cup 1st Round and the league wins at Shrublands and Mulbarton

This is a game to very much look forward to and the team would love all your support.

The game takes place this Sunday 18th October with kick off at 2pm at Crown Meadow with Free Entry for all.

See you there!

Up the Trawler Girls!
