Lubomir Guentchev has signed a 3-year deal with Bulgarian Division 2 side FC Lyubimets. Iavor has also signed a similar deal with the same club.
Lyubimets play home games at the Gradski Stadium which holds about 5,000. They play in white shirts with grey sleeves and black shorts at home, and the away kit is all blue. Lyubimets play in the East B PFG, the second division of Bulgarian football.
In 2008, they finished second in the South East AFG league, getting promoted into the league they are currently in.
In the 2011/2012 season, they finished in 4th place. Having played 27 games winning 14, drawing 6, losing 7, they only finished 5 points behind the league winners Etar.
They kick off the new season against Spartak Varna on the 10th August at home. I'm sure we will watch the results with interest.
Lubo will be remembered for his quick feet and great dribbling skills, and his unforgetable wonder-goal against Harrow Borough last season, and the all important goal against Tonbridge Angels in the play-off final in 2011, to get us level at 3-3.
Iavor only played the one game for Lowestoft Town, against the Ryman Premier League winners Billericay Town, scoring a great goal from 25 yards-plus on the half-volley, on the final day of the league season of 2011/2012.
I'm sure the Club would like to say a big thanks to the brothers, and wish them all the best for the future, and welcome them back anytime when they visit England.
