Lowestoft Town Football Club is proud to unveil its new Scholarship Programme, marking the beginning of an exciting new era in the club's commitment to developing talented young footballers, strengthening the First Team pathway and investing in the future of our community.

Delivered in partnership with Access Sport College, the Scholarship Programme combines full-time education with elite football development, providing ambitious 16 to 19-year-old players with a genuine pathway into senior football while supporting their personal, academic and professional development within an elite environment.

Each academic year, an elite group of 20 Scholars will be selected, signing paid scholarship agreements with Lowestoft Town FC in recognition of their commitment to excellence both on and off the pitch. Alongside representing the club in the National League U19 Alliance, Scholars will combine full-time education with elite coaching, structured player development and meaningful monthly community projects throughout the local area.

The programme has been built upon foundations that have already delivered outstanding success. Since the arrival of Access Sport in 2022, our player pathway has seen 12 players progress into the First Team, accumulating more than 240 senior appearances, while nine members of our current First Team squad have developed through the programme. Those achievements demonstrate the strength of the pathway already in place and provide the platform for the next exciting stage of its evolution.

The Scholarship Programme has been created to build on these foundations, ensuring Lowestoft Town FC continues to attract, develop and retain the region's most promising young footballers while strengthening the long-term future of the football club.
As part of the Scholarship Programme, our Scholars will receive elite coaching, individual player support and a genuine First Team pathway, while committing to meaningful monthly community projects that strengthen the relationship between the football club and the town it proudly represents.

Lowestoft Town has a proud history of developing talented local players, and that pathway has already proven its value, with nine members of our current First Team squad progressing through our previous Academy set-up. Last season presented a number of challenges for the club, but the contribution of our young players was instrumental in helping us finish the season strongly and secure our place at Step 4.

The Scholarship Programme provides an outstanding opportunity for ambitious young footballers to combine elite football development with high-quality education. Each year, an elite group of twenty Scholars will become an integral part of our player pathway and the future of this football club.

Our First Team Manager, Rob Eagle, is fully supportive of the programme and is looking forward to working alongside Scholarship Programme Manager, Cion Wren, to develop the next generation of Lowestoft Town players. Together, we want to establish Lowestoft Town FC as one of the leading destinations for talented young footballers in East Anglia."
