Club officials have expressed delight as a new development programme is unveiled.
The Lowestoft Town FC Girls Player Development Programme is set to launch - with Talent Identification sessions being held next month.
Jamie Godbold, Lowestoft's first team manager and recently appointed Head of Football, said: "Given the scale of our town and football club, it is fitting for Lowestoft Town to establish its own female player pathway.
"My past experiences working with local female groups have indicated a fantastic talent pool and believe they deserve the same opportunities that we offer to our boys teams.
"This programme will be the starting point of our vision to create a player pathway that extends from U10 through to a senior ladies team."
The Talent Identification sessions are set to be held throughout July for age groups U10 to U16.
Following these sessions, selected players will be chosen to join weekly training, in preparation for a half-termly Junior Premier League (JPL) - negotiations with the JPL league are currently ongoing - allowing them to continue to play for their grassroots teams at the weekend.
The Talent Identification sessions will take place at Barnards Meadow Football Centre on the following dates:
- U10 & U12: Monday 8th and 22nd July (5:30-6:30pm)
- U14 & U16: Monday 15th and 29th July (5:30-6:30pm)
