Lowestoft Town FC have moved a step closer to sealing home advantage in the Pitching In Isthmian League North division play-offs.
After picking up four points from their past two games, Jamie Godbold's men remain in third place with three games to be played in the space of a week.
A 2-3 away win at Basildon last Saturday - where Jake Reed fired a 20-minute hat trick in the first half - was followed by a 2-2 home draw against Suffolk rivals Bury Town on Wednesday night, with Reed and skipper Travis Cole on the scoresheet.
The earlier bank holiday Monday clash against Bury had to be rescheduled to midweek due to a waterlogged pitch.
After the weekend and midweek matches, third placed Lowestoft are now four points clear - with a game in hand - on Heybridge Swifts in fourth.
Lowestoft are also six points ahead of Grays in the remaining play-off place in fifth - with Felixstowe & Walton United and Stowmarket Town pushing as the crucial run-in intensifies.
With Lowestoft virtually guaranteed a play-off place, they are still ideally placed to secure a potential home tie in the play-off semi final with a third placed finish.
The Trawlerboys need three points from their last three games to confirm this - although two could still be enough - ahead of a trip to Essex this Saturday to play third placed Heybridge Swifts at Scraley Road.
Blues boss Jamie Godbold said: "We are still in a good position.
"Four points over the week is still a good return and I think we need one win from our last three games to secure third place."
Reflecting on the past week, Godbold said: "The bank holiday weekend, what with the game being called off, disrupted plans a little bit and makes it a tighter schedule - but it is ours to throw away now.
"On Saturday it showed a bit of a problem in that we let the opposition back into a game we had controlled.
"It should've been far more comfortable but we were left defending our box at the end.
"That's the disappointing thing as we got ourselves in a really good position but took our foot of the gas.
"On Wednesday the boys showed good character to come back after Cruis' decent strike had given Bury the early lead.
"All credit to the lads, with Jake's finish for the equaliser superb before Travis popped up in the opposition six yard box to make it 2-1.
"Overall I was generally pleased with the performance. I thought we played some really good stuff in difficult conditions.
"We had to work hard for the opportunities, but we created chances and over the course of the game I thought we deserved the win, but we take the point and head on to Saturday.
"Heybridge are a good side who have hit some good form at the right time of the season.
"It will be a tough game on a 3G surface that we don't fare too well on but we are looking forward to it.
"I think when we played them before we played really well. We know they will be a strong side, full of experience."
Lowestoft will host Brentwood Town at the Fosters Solicitors Community Stadium next Tuesday, April 18 (7.45pm KO), with the vice presidents Easter prize draw held ahead of kick off in the social club.
Godbold said: "I think they are one of the best teams we have played this season.
"We are at home, on a Tuesday evening - where generally we perform - and with the crowd behind us roaring us on in the remaining two home games hopefully that can help push us on."
The Trawlerboys will then host East Thurrock United on Saturday, April 22.
Owen Murphy should return to the squad this weekend after his hamstring injury, while Rhys Logan will also be available after missing out through work commitments in midweek.
