Two games in three days for Lowestoft Town FC's first team

Lowestoft Town have been buoyed by a fine away win as they aim to climb out of the relegation places.

A vital five games remain for The Trawlerboys in the battle to beat the drop.

Lowestoft, who remain in 19th place and in the final relegation spot currently, will play teams that are top, 10th, 12th, 18th and 21st in the table during these pivotal Pitching In Isthmian League North Division clashes.

The Trawlerboys kickstart this busy spell with a hectic Easter weekend of action seeing them play two games in three days.

With three home games and two away matches to be played in the space of 21 days this month, it starts against 10th placed Tilbury at Crown Meadow tomorrow.

On Easter Monday, April 6 Lowestoft will head to Suffolk rivals and league leaders Felixstowe & Walton United away.

But the Blues will head into both clashes boosted by a fine 0-1 victory away at 15th placed Walthamstow - to close within eight points of the East London side - last Saturday.

The Trawlerboys produced probably the best 90 minutes display of the season, with excellent displays all over the pitch.

Henry Pollock's 19th minute goal proved to be the difference as he slammed the ball past Nurse.

The Trawlerboys now have 37 points from 37 league games, with 18th placed Grays now just one point ahead of Lowestoft, and 17th placed Mildenhall only two points ahead.

Meanwhile 16th placed Takeley are now six points ahead of the Blues.

Lowestoft's final three matches follow on successive Saturday's to complete the month.

The Trawlerboys host 21st placed Heybridge Swifts - who are currently nine points behind them - at Crown Meadow on April 11, before a crucial visit to 18th placed Grays Athletic, who are just above them, on April 18.

The season ends with a home encounter against 12th placed Brightlingsea Regent on April 25.
