"It will be a tough game, but we are in fine form too."
- Lowestoft Town manager Jamie Godbold

It is being billed as Lowestoft's "biggest game of the season."

And with a large crowd expected to descend on the Fosters Solicitors Community Stadium this Saturday, gates will open early for an eagerly awaited clash.

Hashtag United will arrive in Lowestoft on their first-ever visit for an encounter between two of the league's form teams.

With The Tags in second place in the Pitching In Isthmian League North division they travel to third placed Lowestoft, who closed the gap on them with their latest win on Tuesday.

The Trawlerboys are continuing to do their best to reel in the top two - AFC Sudbury and Hashtag - after beating Sudbury last Saturday and extending their unbeaten run to eight games and five successive wins with victory over Basildon United last night.

The Tags boast a former Premier League player in Greg Halford, a runner-up from the Love Island villa in Toby Armolaran and "quality players all over the pitch" according to Blues boss Jamie Godbold.

Described as 'The one-of-a-kind football and ESports Club,' Hashtag United FC was formed in March 2016 by club chairman Spencer Carmichael-Brown - a popular football YouTuber known as Spencer FC.

Since then, their dramatic rise has seen them progress from playing exhibition matches and in YouTube leagues to gaining a global audience of fans.

In the 2018–19 season, the club joined the English football league system - and they've not looked back in progressing through the football pyramid.

Their debut season in the Isthmian North in 2021-22 saw them finish just outside the play-offs in eighth.

This season, under the management of former East Thurrock United assistant manager Jay Devereux, they have won 13 league games in succession with their last defeat coming at leaders AFC Sudbury on November 8.

With The Trawlerboys last league defeat coming on November 26, and after beating the league leaders AFC Sudbury last Saturday Blues boss Jamie Godbold admitted his players are looking forward to Saturday's test.

Godbold said: "Last week we talked about picking up three wins from three in the upcoming games, and we've picked up maximum points over two games.

"We know their strengths and we have to learn from the mistakes we made against them (in the 3-1 win for Hashtag in October).

"We don't want to be doubled by any team, and now all the focus is on the biggest game of the season.

"The aim is to keep the pressure on the two teams above us, and Saturday's win has kept us in touch with Hashtag and Sudbury as we keep a winning run and some good form going.

"This continued on Tuesday, and keeps us in there and close enough to them with the knowledge that if they slip up we will be there determined to take advantage.

"They have quality all over the pitch, with plenty of experience and physicality.

"It will be a tough game, but we are in fine form too and with the Trawlerboys home crowd behind us it is always a difficult place to come and play - and we are aiming to keep the three points in Suffolk."

With a big crowd expected on Saturday, the gates at the Fosters Solicitors Community Stadium will be open from 12.15pm.

This is ahead of the Hashtag clash kicking off at 3pm, with the clubhouse open early to show live BT Sport coverage of West Ham United v Chelsea ahead of the match.

Supporters are being urged to purchase their tickets for Saturday's home clash ahead of the game.

With Lowestoft Town FC have once again linking up with Kaizen, it allows supporters to pre buy their matchday tickets and avoid any possible queues.
