Be part of the celebrations with the Champions!

Call to all to turn out and witness the crowning glory of Lowestoft Town FC

"It is a reward for all the hard work - this is for everybody at the club!"
- Blues boss Jamie Godbold

A party style atmosphere and large crowds are expected as a "historic" trophy win is set to be celebrated.

All roads will lead to Crown Meadow on Saturday, as the Fosters Solicitors Community Stadium hosts the crowning glory of Lowestoft Town FC.

The jubilant Trawlerboys secured the Pitching In Isthmian League North Division in the capital last Saturday, with their 1-3 away win at New Salamis enough to clinch the title after their closest challengers dropped points.

With one league game still remaining, champions Lowestoft will lift the trophy on presentation day on Saturday.

As The Trawlerboys host fifth placed Brentwood Town, who remain in the play off places, Blues boss Jamie Godbold has called on the town to show their support for the champions.

After a memorable trip to the capital last Saturday, 'We are the champions' echoed out around the visitors stadium as a brace of goals from Sam Johnson added to an early own goal after Harvey Sayer's cross had been turned into his own net by Arioglu.

With Lowestoft's challengers all dropping points, and Bowers & Pitsea suffering a defeat it moved The Trawlerboys five points clear with one game to go - meaning that 78 points was enough for the title.

Still on cloud nine this week, Blues boss Jamie Godbold said: "I am still buzzing, and feeling amazing.

"It was really unexpected. We said at the start of the game to the lads that nothing would be decided on the day, and we needed to give ourselves a chance by winning the game.

"I was just stood in front of the dugout and was pretty much unaware of anything until about half time.

"In terms of the game it was practically over early on after we scored the two goals inside seven minutes.

"We raced into a 2-0 lead and did not have to chase the game in any way - so that settled any nerves we had.

"As the second half unfolded we could hear the cheering from our supporters as Walthamstow - having 2-0 down at Bowers - had turned it around to lead.

"That led to really great scenes after hearing we had won the title.

"When we look back and reflect on the season, we can point to having good starts by being quick out of the blocks that has seen us quite often going into the lead in the opening 20-25 minutes of games.

"It's been nine months of hard work, and now coming down to it and going into Saturday's game we know we can just play - we can relax knowing the league has been decided.

"But we will still definitely approach the game wanting to win and to put on a performance for our supporters before we celebrate and lift that trophy.

"It is a reward for all the hard work - this is for everybody at the club, the players, management, officials, staff, supporters and all the volunteers.

"It is an opportunity to celebrate and thank them for all their efforts and support this year - its a really good occasion for the town.

"I am just so proud - proud to be manager of the football club, proud of all the players this season and proud of the fans who have supported us home and away.

"The players are all fully fit, everyone will be there, so there will be some tough decisions to make, and we know that Brentwood are a really good side with some fantastic players.

"We will be going all out to win the game and end on a high note with a performance for our supporters.

"So get down to the ground, be part of the celebrations for another of our historic league wins and there will hopefully be a party-type atmosphere with lots of applause and cheers as we lift the trophy."

The Blues boss added that there will be opportunities to salute the players, management and officials in the bar after the game - with all the players set to stay afterwards to thank the supporters for their fervent backing.
