Rowan 'Bob' Charlton to step down from his role as Academy Manager for the new season

As the one Academy season is drawing to an end and preparations well underway for the new season, we will be sad to see 'Bob' leave his role with the Academy due to a change in his personal circumstances.

On his time with the club, Bob said, "I joined the club back in 2015 and have worked across many teams and worked with some truly great people. Since then, it's been one hell of a ride and it has driven the passion I have in developing young people to reach their potential.

Working in the Centre of Excellence since the beginning has been one of the most rewarding things I have done, and to see it go from 2 teams in the beginning, with some of those players now starting to knock on the door of the first team, to where the programme is developing now, is really something for everyone who has ever been involved with, to be proud of.

It has been an absolute pleasure to watch these young people apply their trade with the view of bettering themselves. I have no doubt in saying, I will one day get my wish of sitting in the stands of our first team or beyond, and be able to say I've had a small part to play in helping that person being where they are that day. That's how much I believe in the programme and the hard work everyone puts in.

I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who makes this programme possible. Your support has always been appreciated.

Lowestoft is a club and community that I will always cherish and look out for, and I wish everyone involved the best for the future, the staff, the players, the parents and anyone who has any part to play with our wonderful club."

Bob will continue to support the Academy through the Summer as it undergoes some exciting changes and will ensure the hand over process is seamless.

Everyone at the club would like to thank Bob for all his hard work throughout the years and wish him, his wife Heidi and their family all the best in the future.

Adverts for a number of positions will be released in the coming weeks for new and existing opportunities with the club.
