Manager - Alan Devonshire. Alan played over 350 games for West Ham and scored 29 goals during a 14 year career playing in midfield. He then had a brief spell with Watford, before hanging up his boots. Alan was also capped 8 times by England. He has managed Maidenhead Utd and Hampton & Richmond Borough where he had 8 years. Braintree appointed him as boss in July 2011.
Conference National 2011-2012 - finished 12th Away End is called the Quag End. It's an open terrace which was redeveloped in 2012, with a capacity of 1000, but no cover. Away fans can take advantage of seating in the main stand. Away turnstiles are over to the right of the clubhouse.

The club shop is worth a look with a good range of programmes and books. There is also a separate stall selling club branded clothing etc, normally in operation on matchdays.
Braintree had a much needed win in the Conference National on October 9th, against Luton Town 3-2. It was The Irons first win in 8 games and last weekend they drew 0-0 with Hereford.
Braintree have in the last few days signed Alan Massey from Ryman Premier side Wealdstone, as cover for defender Dean Wells who will be out for 6 to 8 weeks with a shoulder injury.
Other information is that Braintree is 10 miles northeast of Chelmsford, and 15 miles west of Colchester on the River Blackwater.
Former Norwich City youngsters Josh Dawkins, and just last week, Luke Daley have joined Braintree Town. Daley is 22 and was recently released by Lincoln City. He made 10 appearances in 2009/2010 for the Canaries and played 21 games for Plymouth last season.
Dawkins, aged 20, joined in July of this year. Both players have a bright future in the game and both are names to look out for.
