The 1st team dugout will also see some changes ahead of the new campaign as the club continues its quest for sustainability, long term development and seeks to re-establish the senior side back at Step 3 at the first time of asking.

Leaving Jamie Godbold's staff will be Assistant Manager, Andy Reynolds and Goalkeeper Coach, Rowan (Bob) Charlton. Andy & Bob will continue in their roles within our Academy staffing structure. The past season has seen both jointly in the Academy and with the 1st team and now is the right time to ensure there is balance and focus in what we are asking of people at the club if we are to make significant progress on all fronts.

Academy Manager, Andy Reynolds said "The past seasons, despite COVID-19, the Academy has grown from strength to strength and now requires a greater resource of time from individuals who can give it their sole focus. It was a long discussion that occurred behind the scenes to land on this decision but we are all united that this is the best way forward to allow for consistency where it is needed so we can finish what we have started here. Bob's time has been significantly stretched and the commitment he has shown goes beyond what many will realise but ultimately Bob wants to ensure he is able to do 100% of any job and continuing as an Academy coach for the coming season also supports his coach development as he completes his UEFA B coaching badge".

Joining the staff for the coming season will be former blues Academy graduate and 1st Player, Cion Wren. Cion is currently undertaking his masters degree and will join the staff as Strength & Conditioning Coach and will be tasked immediately with bringing the squad back up to speed when training commences this week. We are delighted to see one of our own return to contribute with his new skill-set.

Continuing in their roles will be Luke Pearce (Physio) & George Neeve (Kitman).
