Teams:-
Lowestoft Town:
Josh Glover, Barker, Cole, McAuley (Joel Glover 76 mins), Blake-Tracy, Marsden (Henderson 61 mins), Rossi Jarvis, Smith, Hodd (Forshaw 82 mins), Reed, Spillane
Subs not used; Jessup (just four subs named)

Both sides shuffled their packs with them still keeping one-eye on the bread and butter of their seasons, the league. Lowestoft Town made minimal changes with the most notable seeing Spillane moved into an attacking role alongside Reed. While Bury Town rested key players and brought in a number of promising young players.

1-0 Lowestoft Town Goal (22 mins)
A Smith corner from the right is headed down and into the net from close range by Travis Cole for the lead.

1-1 Bury Town Goal (38 mins)
It’s all too casual for Lowestoft, who concede a soft goal with Jollard being allowed time and space to pick the ball up in midfield and hit a powerful, low drive past Glover.

2-1 Bury Town Goal (54 mins)
Bury come out for the second half on the front foot and after a couple of early chances they grab a deserved lead with another foray from midfield seeing Allen lash the ball home from outside the box.

2-2 Lowestoft Town Goal (60 mins)
Lowestoft take the match to extra-time with the goal of the game, as another teasing cross from the left by Blake-Tracy is met at the far post by a sweetly hit, side-footed volley by Michael Spillane.

Extra-Time:-
3-2 Lowestoft Town Goal (93 mins)
Smith delivers a Lowestoft corner into a dangerous area and with the Bury defence only clearing as far as a lurking Jake Reed, the poacher spins and finishes well to put the Trawlerboys back in front.

4-2 Lowestoft Town Goal (104 mins)
A free-kick from Smith finds its way to Travis Cole in the box and he puts it away for his second and a two goal cushion for Lowestoft.

5-2 Lowestoft Town Goal (113 mins)
Barker gets to the right corner and send in a cross that has Joel Glover leaping like a salmon to head home and send the Trawlerboys through in the cup.

Lowestoft Town now turn their attentions back to the Ryman Premier League and the visit to Crown Meadow on Saturday of in-form Bognor Regis Town. This promises to be a mouth-watering game with the Trawlerboys looking for the double after their 3-1 opening day win at Bognor but the visitors coming into the game in great form having won six of their last seven games.
