SCHOLAR WEEKLY | A Half-Term to Remember

SCHOLAR WEEKLY | A Half-Term to Remember

Cion Wren

A successful trial evening, two fantastic days of community football and preparations continuing for our return to league action.

It has been a busy and rewarding half-term for the Lowestoft Town scholars, with a successful trial evening, two fantastic days of community football and preparations continuing for our return to league action.

Although the boys have had a break from education this week, they have remained heavily involved in the programme, representing the club brilliantly both on and off the pitch.

Successful Scholarship Trial

On Monday evening, we welcomed prospective students and players to Crown Meadow for our latest trial event.

It was a successful evening and an excellent opportunity for those attending to demonstrate their ability, meet the staff and learn more about the opportunities available through Access Sport College and the Lowestoft Town FC Scholarship Programme.

Thank you to everyone who attended. We look forward to supporting the next steps of those interested in joining us.

Half-Term Football Camps Bring the Community Together

Tuesday and Wednesday saw Crown Meadow welcome over 150 children across two days for our October Half-Term Football Camps.

It was a fantastic response from the local community, with young players enjoying coaching, challenges, games and the opportunity to play at the home of Lowestoft Town FC.

Our scholars were outstanding throughout. They brought enthusiasm, energy and care to their roles, helping lead activities, encourage participants and create a welcoming atmosphere.

Seeing the boys take responsibility and work together to give younger children an enjoyable experience was a proud moment for everyone involved. Their contribution demonstrated the programme’s commitment to developing people and strengthening our community.

A huge thank you to all the children, parents and guardians who supported the camps. We hope everyone enjoyed their time at Crown Meadow and look forward to welcoming you back for future events.

We would also like to thank Pride in Place Lowestoft for sponsoring the event and helping us provide these opportunities for local young people.

Back on the Training Pitch

The scholars returned to training on Thursday morning as attention turned back towards the National Youth Alliance League.

Following three wins from three completed league fixtures, the Young Blues will be looking to build on their excellent start when they travel to face Southend United on Wednesday 4 November.

Thursday’s session provided an opportunity to get the group back together on the pitch and continue preparations for another important test.

Information Evening This Tuesday

Interested in combining your education with a full-time football programme? Our next Access Sport College Lowestoft Information Evening takes place at Barnards Meadow on Tuesday 3 November, from 6–7pm.

The evening is an opportunity for prospective students and their families to meet the staff, explore the education and football pathways available and find out more about the Lowestoft Town FC Scholarship Programme.

Whether you attended Monday’s trial or are discovering the programme for the first time, we would be delighted to welcome you.
