After falling two goals behind The Trawlerboys roared back to triumph in a five-goal thriller.
This Tuesday evening Southern League Premier Central encounter was played out in tough conditions at a wet Fosters Solicitors Community Stadium.
The Trawlerboys made one change to their starting line up, with Flynn Clarke - returning after injury - starting in midfield in place of Owen Murphy who was unavailable.
As has seemingly been the case in recent weeks, Lowestoft started slowly - but there was a lot of fortune about the opening goal.
There appeared to be no danger in the ninth minute as Lowestoft attacked with Sam Johnson controlling the ball in the Royston half.
But in the blustery conditions, The Trawlerboys were fortuitously hit by a Royston breakaway as the attempted pass forward ricocheted off an opposing player and spun kindly into Luke Johnson, who raced through free to beat Luke Holt in the one-on-one.
Thereafter Lowestoft controlled most of the tempo as they looked to get back into the game, but they were undone by a mistake in the 41st minute.
Luke Johnson's drive seemed to have been covered by Holt, but it skidded off the sodden turf and squirmed through his grasp - just creeping over the line to make it 0-2.
But showing great character and resilience, Lowestoft recovered and earned a lifeline back into the game in first half injury time.
The Trawlerboys were awarded a penalty and spot king Harvey Sayer scored to make it 1-2 just before the first half whistle shrilled.
This spurred The Trawlerboys on, and with all the momentum, Lowestoft controlled the second half.
With midfielder Flynn Clarke's first goal for the club coming in the 56th minute to make it 2-2, there only ever looked to be one winner after this.
And the comeback was sealed in the 67th minute, with the third goal in 22 minutes scored by Sam Johnson to complete a superb turnaround and a deserved three points.
