Two late goals from Jake Reed earned Lowestoft Town the derby spoils in the second round of the Turners Hyundai Suffolk Premier Cup tie with Kirkley & Pakefield at Walmer Road.
The Trawlerboys overcame a scare to win the game 3-1, with all the goals coming in the final quarter.
After an even first half, enjoyed by more than 250 supporters, Lowestoft took the lead in the 68th minute.
Reed's shot was well saved by Jordan Smith, but substitute Louis McIntosh fired the visitors ahead.
Cameron Russell then equalised for The Royals, neatly converting from the penalty spot with 12 minutes remaining.
But Lowestoft soon regained the lead as that man Reed took advantage of a defensive mistake to fire The Trawlerboys ahead.
Reed then fired in his scored and Lowestoft's third in the very last minute to seal the 3-1 win and a place in the quarter-finals.
