The Vets had their first outing at the Amber Dew Events Stadium against a much more youthful Carlton Colville side. In a game of 3 x 30 minute periods the Vets started off passing the ball around well but were stunned by an excellent curling drive into the top corner by a Carlton striker.
Carlton then added a second goal.
The Vets pulled a goal back through Gary McGee and levelled the scores with a majestic volley by Russell Stock. 2 quick breaks saw Carlton restore their 2 goal advantage before Matty Potter headed a 3rd for the Vets to complete the scoring.
An entertaining 90 minutes which augers well for the season ahead.
