Mustafa double earns young blues a point

After a delayed arrival due to traffic the scholars rode out a frantic beginning to the match and were indebted to kai Gillings for keeping out the hosts with a string of excellent saves. As the half went on the Scholars began to get their fair share of possession and settled in to a rhythm that saw them cut open the Boreham Wood defence regularly only to be denied by the home goalkeeper who himself was in excellent form. The scholars did find the opening goal just before the break with a goal that didn't really fit the match, Mustafa Mhjowb followed a back pass to the goalkeeper and as he aimed his long kick downfield the striker had managed to close the gap enough to ensure the ball rebounded off him in to the open net.

HT - Boreham Wood 0 - 1 LTFC

The second half started with a fast tempo and neither side fashioned much in terms of chances for a short while as both teams continued to try and exploit the space between and behind the back lines. The first chance of the half fell to the hosts as the Boreham Wood winger lifted the ball over the advancing Gillings only for it to be cleared by the recovering Jayden Block. The hosts eventually did break get and equaliser, again round the side of the blues defence and a square pass for a simple finish from close range. Shortly after a spate of substitutions from both sides Boreham Wood took the lead with a similar pattern and were in the ascendency. Credit to the young blues though they continued to apply themselves in the correct way and were rewarded with an equaliser after a deep free-kick was allowed to bounce in the box and then loop up to hit the bar, first to react was Mustafa Mhjowb to drill home. A draw was a fair result in the game although there was a disappointment in surrendering a lead. Next up is Braintree (a) with 48 hours recovery for the boys.
