U13 Tommy Rix has been signed by Ipswich Town following a successful trial

I have no doubt Tommy will not be the last to move on to professional academy football and look forward to more lads showing the bravery to step out of their comfort zone with us
- Andy Reynolds - Head of Football Development

The club are delighted to be informed that young striker Tommy Rix is swapping the Trawlerboys to become a Tractorboy.

Tommy who joined the Centre of Excellence this Summer impressed in the early stages of the season which prompted Ipswich to invite Tommy in for a trial. Tommy has continued to work hard enough to impress the academy staff and be offered a 2 year deal.
Head of Football Development Andy Reynolds spoke about Tommy's signing saying "Having a lad get and take this opportunity so early is exactly what we were after, our area has had talented kids play football for a number of years and they need a platform to show their potential, the Centre of Excellence is just that. A well done should be given to everyone connected to Tommy's progress, his parents, former coaches and of course himself. Our club can't say this early we have brought Tommy on a huge amount but what we have done is provide him the door that he has walked through. I have no doubt Tommy will not be the last to move on to professional academy football and look forward to more lads showing the bravery to step out of their comfort zone with us".

Recruitment for our current and 2020/21 Centre of Excellence is still on-going, if you are interested in a trial please register your interest at recruitment@lowestofttownfc.co.uk

Everyone within the club would like to extend our best wishes to Tommy on his journey as we hope to help more along the same path.
