Places are still available on our Football Scholarship and some of our scholars have already been involved with the first team in their pre-season preparations!

On top of this, first team player Danny Crow is head coach and working alongside both Darren Cox and Scott King with the Youth Alliance side that ties in with our scholarship programme.

On Tuesday night (28th July), two of our bright and upcoming scholars, Lee Will and Alex Coldwell made their first team debuts during our 2-0 win over Dereham Town and put in great performances for the Trawlerboys.

Prior to that in our home match against Gorleston (18th July), more of our scholars came on as second half substitutes, with Lee Will scoring on his debut and great performances from Nyadzayo and Fowkes as well.

Speaking about our scholars featuring in our first teams pre-season preparations; first team Player/Coach, Dan Gleeson said; "The three who came on against Gorleston (Will, Fowkes and Nyadzayo) were very good and enthusiastic and it was great to see Lee Will score our fifth goal. It was great for their confidence and they all looked like decent prospects. Then on Tuesday night in our 2-0 win against Dereham Town we had Lee Will and Alex Coldwell, who both came on during the second half and did well. Lee Will continued on from his showing against Gorleston and the centre-half Alex Coldwell also did really well for us. For a young lad like Alex to come straight into the first team, having not trained with us or played with us before was a tough ask but to be fair he made two or three very good blocks and was impressive. I'm not saying he's ready to play in the first team just yet but it looks like there's a few prospects coming through the new Youth Alliance set-up, which is good and an exciting time for the club".
