Lowestoft Ladies 8 Billericay Town 3
Lowestoft Ladies progress to the next round of the Woman's FA Cup with a stunning 8-3 victory at home to unbeaten Billericay Town.
The Lowestoft Town Ladies welcomed unbeaten Billericay to the Crown Meadow on Sunday for their FA Cup First Preliminary Round match, knowing the match represented their sternest challenge thus far.
Lowestoft preceded to give arguably their best performance since joining the Eastern Region Premier League and demolished their opponents with a scintillating display of precision and incisive football, coupled with some top draw finishing.
Four first half goals for Hannah Waters, who was outstanding all match and one for Natasha Thomas, who also had a tremendous game gave Lowestoft a 5-2 lead at the break.
In the second half a further two goals for Hannah Waters gave her a double hat-trick and this was added to with a goal by the incredibly hard working Chloe Hoffman, who is having a terrific season.
The only slight disappointment was seeing two goals for Paige Shorten harshly disallowed and Lowestoft conceding a couple of very soft and sloppy goals, which need to be eradicate if they're going to stamp their authority on matches.
The final score was 8-3 in what was a great team performance and one which conclusively demonstrated how far the Lowestoft Ladies side have come since the finish of last season.
Extra praise this week goes to Hannah Waters who scored six goals and gave the Billericay defence a torrid time.
The Lowestoft Ladies now face Wealdstone Ladies at home in the next round, with the tie scheduled to played on Sunday 12th October 2014 (2pm kick-off).
