Lowestoft Ladies 8 Peterborough Sports 2
The Lowestoft Ladies maintain their 100% record on Sunday with an 8-2 home victory over Peterborough Sports.
Peterborough Sports were the visitors to the Crown Meadow on Sunday as Lowestoft Ladies looked to maintain their 100% start to the season.
It was disappointing that the visitors could not field a full team and started the match with just eight players. This did however present a golden opportunity to further extend Lowestoft's unbeaten record.
The first half was nearly all played in the opponents half and goals for Lauren Bullard on 18 minutes, Amber Rowland on 22 minutes, Natasha Thomas on 29 and 34 minutes and Broghan Scully on 43 minutes gave Lowestoft a lead of 5-1 at the interval.
In the second half Lowestoft played with more shape, purpose and discipline and a whole string of exceptional saves from the Peterborough keeper prevented a complete rout. As it was further goals came from Amber Rowland who scored her second goal, Natasha Thomas who completed her hat-trick and Sian Manthorpe scored her first of the season to complete the scoring in a final score of 8-2.
A special mention this week goes to Marcie Prettyman who is without doubt one of the best right backs in the county and her commitment, attitude and work ethic epitomises everything good about the Lowestoft team. Whilst she is a little short on confidence at the moment, class is permanent and this young lady has this in abundance.
This coming Sunday the Lowestoft Ladies are at home again, when they will welcome Sawbridgeworth to the Crown Meadow (2pm kick-off).
