Leverstock Green 1 Lowestoft Ladies 3
Lowestoft Ladies maintain their 100% record with a 3-1 away win against Leverstock Green.
The Lowestoft Ladies made the long journey to Leverstock with a game that promised much as both teams were seeking to maintain their 100% league record.
Lowestoft were on the offensive from the start and three good efforts fron Natasha Thomas all narrowly failed to find the target in the opening 15 minutes. The centre midfield trio of Deva Rawlings, Broghan Scully and Charlotte Eastwood were pulling all the strings and dictating the game and it seemed only a matter of time before Lowestoft scored.
The opening goal finally came on 28 minutes with Player of the Match Chantelle Keevil delivering a perfect corner to find Kare Pasque, whose superbly timed glancing header nestled in the Leverstock net for 1-0.
Before half time Lauren Bullard was unlucky not to add to Lowestofts tally and Amber Rowland saw a good effort cannon back off the post.
Second half Leverstock enjoyed the better of the early exchanges but good shape and discipline limited them to a couple of hopeful long range efforts. However, their pressure yielded an equaliser on 57 minutes when another good header from a well taken corner made the scoreline 1-1.
This reignited Lowestoft and they were soon back in the ascendency, as Amber Rowland scored with a effort which deceived the keeper for 2-1. This came before another of her mazy runs culminated in a sweetly hit left foot shot to give the score line a more realistic look at 3-1. Both teams went looking for more goals in the last 15 minutes and chances came at both ends as the game became stretched but the match finished 3-1.
The Player of the Match award was given to Chantelle Keevil but this was a tremendous team effort and performance. The whole team were magnificent with their ability and sheer will to win, showing why they are deservedly top of the table and the only team still with a 100% record.
This Sunday the ladies face another big test when they will welcome to the Crown Meadow, Peterborough (Kick-off 2pm).
