Lowestoft Ladies 4 Barking Ladies 2

Lowestoft Ladies make it two wins from two with a 4-2 win at home to Barking.

The Lowestoft Ladies welcomed Barking to the Crown Meadow for their first home game of the new season.

After a shaky first five minutes Lowestoft asserted themselves and were soon bossing the game. On twelve minutes a well taken corner from Chantelle Keevil found skipper Kate Pasque with a well timed run and she soared above everyone else to head home for 1-0.
Lowestoft were displaying good cohesion and fluidity and carved out three or four good opportunities and but for a combination of some good defending and goal keeping, Lowestoft would have extending their lead.
On 29 minutes Lowestoft deservedly extended their lead when a good break down the left hand side found Chloe Hoffman, who fired home from just inside the area for 2-0.
This seemed to stir Barking into life and on 38 minutes Barking reduced the arrears after Lowestoft gave the ball away cheaply in their own half; 2-1.

The second half belonged to Natasha Thomas who terrorised the Barking defence and scored from an acute angle after 57 minutes and then combined with Broghan Scully to work a good opening from a free kick on 72 minutes, with her shot going in off a deflection from a Barking player.
In between this Lowestoft gifted Barking a goal with some sloppy passing just outside of their own box but it was Lowestoft who in the last 15 minutes were much the stronger and fitter and were unfortunate not to have added to their tally and came away with a 4-2 win and maximum points after 2 games.

This was another excellent team performance from a team still coming to terms with each other following the numerous new summer signings and providing they work hard in training, show the right attitude and commitment, they can only get stronger and better as the season progresses.

Once again thanks go the ground staff who have the Crown Meadow in great shape and to the referee and his assistants who all officiated very well.

The Lowestoft Ladies next match is away to Leverstock on Sunday 1st September 2013.
