The Lowestoft Ladies kicked off their new season in style with an emphatic 8-0 win away to Sawbridgeworth.

It was the Lowestoft Ladies first match in the Easter Region premier and saw them travel to Sawbridgeworth.

Lowestoft delivered a scintillating display of high quality ladies football and right from the off they asserted themselves.
After just 4 minutes a perfect delivery from Natasha Thomas on the right wing found debutant Sophie Baker on the back post to slot home for 1-0. Lowestoft were neat and inventive and creating good chances and it was Deva Rawlings on 12 minutes with a well aimed shot who extended the lead to 2-0.
Lowestoft could sense there was more goals to be had and on 25 minutes Natasha Thomas, who was unplayable down the wings all afternoon, increased the lead with an unerring finish for 3-0.
Just before half-time it was 4-0, as Chantelle Keevil hit a fiercely struck shot which came back off the underside of the bar and with Natasha Thomas picked up the rebound she set up Sophie Baker to score.

The second half saw the introduction of Lauren Bullard and Georgia Paul, as Lowestoft picked up exactly where they had left off. There was no let up as Amber Rowland, who was the star of the half, increased the lead to 5-0 on 53 minutes after a really swift and incisive build up which started from Amy Bell in goal. It was again Amber Rowland with a solo effort which saw her dance her way through the Sawbridgeworth defence and past four players before smashing a left foot shot high into the net to increase the advantage to 6-0.
Natasha Thomas then got a richly deserved second goal for herself on 77 minutes to make it 7-0 before good work from Lauren Bullard down the right wing saw her deliver a good cross to the back post which found Sophie Baker to head home and complete her hat-trick to give Lowestoft a fine 8-0 win.

Lowestoft know there will be much tougher games this season but on this form it looks like they can hold their own in this much tougher league.

This Sunday the Lowestoft Ladies will be at home, as they welcome Barking to the Crown Meadow (Kick off 2pm)
