Sean Galea-Pace caught up with Michael Spillane last week for a rather humorous chat about his teammates.

Sean Galea-Pace chats to Spillane and finds out a little bit about his Lowestoft teammates and what it was like scoring a goal against one of the greatest goalkeepers in the world.......

Best Trainer?
Ryan Jarvis. Shame he’s not like it on the pitch on match day but he’s very good in training!

Biggest Joker?
Hendo (Chris Henderson). He’s got a bit about him, he is always getting on at people. It’s mainly the backstreet boys on the coach really, there’s a bit of a group; me, Jarv, Hendo, little Jarv pops in it now and again.

Which player gets made fun of the most?
Probably Lurch (Jake Jessup) I’d say, the big goalie. Just because he’s big, ugly and dumb!

Worst dressed?
Smudger (Adam Smith.) Just horrific, don’t think they do clothes in his size and he buys them too big.

Most annoying and why?
Rory McAuley because he’s always late for everything. Just laid-back, bit of a slob really.

Who’s most conscious about their appearance?
Reedy (Jake Reed), very slyly Reedy. He doesn’t say he does but he’s very vain and loves the sunbed so I’d choose him.

Biggest pet hate?
Probably playing in the Ryman League!

Guilty pleasure?
I love old-school music, bit of pop. That’s probably my guilty pleasure, I suppose.

Best moment in football?
I’d have to say winning the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy with Luton. That day was the best day just because of the atmosphere, the game and the way it happened. The feeling we got from winning that was something that I loved and will probably never feel again.

What was it like scoring against Manuel Neuer for the Republic of Ireland U21s against Germany in 2009?
Well at the time, it was just another game for me. It wasn’t really anything that special, it was obviously still good to score a goal but it’s something I like to give to the boys now and again, I give them a bit of “have you scored against Neuer?” So I’ll still always have that, I suppose.

Who’s the best player you ever played with?
One of the most talented players is Wes Hoolahan, he always sticks out. He’s got so much talent and I’d probably say Wes was one of the best.
