Having been a target for some time, manager Ady Gallagher has signed defender Rory McAuley on a long term deal.

26 year old McAuley started out his career when coming through the youth system at Cambridge United as a 16 year old and made over 140 appearances for the U's. However, an injury early in the 2013/14 season saw his progress at the club hampered and saw him go on loan to Vanarama National League outfit, Dartford for the last three months of that season. At the end of the season, McAuley was placed on the transfer list by Cambridge United and with a number of offers on the table from National League sides, he decided to make his move to Dartford a permanent one, making 50 appearances during their 2014/15 season.
Despite being a regular and a fans favourite at Dartford, he couldn't help them avoid relegation from the Vanarama National League and after mulling over a number of offers again, he signed for Chelmsford City for the 2015/16 season. During last season with The Clarets, McAuley started all 51 games and went on to be voted the 'Fans Players of the Season'.

Lowestoft Town first team manager, Ady Gallagher came close to signing his man at the start of last season and was clearly delighted when speaking about today's signing. "He's a player that I've been tracking for some time and came close to bringing to the club last season. He's the perfect defender for me, with a real quality to his play and has always been a big hit with supporters wherever he's played. I can't wait to work with him and with him also being mates with Michael Spillane , I can see them forging a formidable partnership in defence. It's been hard work to get him to the club but I'm absolutely delighted that he's now here and everyone at Lowestoft Town would like to welcome him to the club".
