Lowestoft put in a spirited and hard working second half performance, coming back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 against Enfield and get a massive three points.
The vocal support from the Lowestoft fans was nothing short of magnificent and the management team have asked me to say a big thank you to everyone for their singing and support today, as it really boosted the lads and drove them on to the win.

On arrival at the ground the team and supporters received a very friendly welcome and great hospitality by Enfield.

Going into the game the Lowestoft squad was still stretched by injuries and with Lee Smith absent a boost was received with International clearance coming through for Curtley Williams, who started the game alongside Gaughran at the back.

Lowestoft took to the field playing in all red, on what was a dry but bitterly cold day. Frew was given the task of leading the line with Defty, while Henderson moved to the right wing.

Sometimes games can take a little time to settle but both teams started brightly. An early Enfield ball released their number 10 (Wallace) on the left side of the area but his shot was off target and following a Francis cross, Lowestoft had two shots without registering.
After a fairly even opening to the match, Lowestoft started pressing and shifting the ball well.
Frew squared to Mitchell from the left channel but a weak shot failed to test the Enfield keeper East, even though his handling was looking a bit off; spilling the ball and giving Lowestoft a sniff.
It had been a reasonable start by Lowestoft but on ten minutes an Enfield free kick from the left side of the box by Hunt, went right through the Lowestoft defence unchallenged and past Plummer, for Enfield to take the lead with a weak goal 1-0.
Henderson was making some good runs from the right and after being brought down on the edge of the box, Mitchell bent the free kick just over.
Both sides were having chances but the Lowestoft defence was looking a little unnerved and with a forward ball putting in O'Brien his early shot was sent wide of the post.
Lowestoft were nearly caught again, with Campbell getting the better of Gaughran to get in on goal but his shot was saved excellently by Plummer but with Hope following up from 2 yards out it looked like Enfield would extend their lead but Hope astonishingly sent the ball over the bar.
Just as Lowestoft thought they had got away with a couple of defensive lapses, Enfield doubled their lead with a defence splitting pass sending Wallace in on goal, to slot under Plummer with ease for 2-0 (23 mins).
The Lowestoft defence were all over the shop now and with a ball across the box, Wallace had a chance to make it three but he sent his shot wide with the goal gaping.
Almost immediately Lowestoft burst back into life and with Saker coming forward from right back, he sent a great delivery in for Defty to head down and past the keeper for 2-1 (28 mins).
Lowestoft were back in the game but after a poor decision by the linesman, justice was done, with
Gaughran being shoved to the ground and with the linesmen unbelievable keeping his flag down, Wallace drove into the box but drilled his shot wide when he should have scored.
Lowestoft had lifted their play now and a good hit by Eagle forced East into a good save, turning the ball round the post.
Both sides were playing good football when having the ball on the deck but unfortunately the ball wasn't on the deck often enough by either side.
The remainder of the first half was pretty much all about the ref, flashing cards about for both sides, with most of the bookings looking rather questionable.
Half time arrived with Lowestoft trailing 2-1 but with both defences looking decidedly shaky, there looked to be more goals in the game.

The interval saw Lowestoft replace Fisk with Okay and right from the off Lowestoft came out with much more about them and more focus and drive to their play.
Some great football down the left by Eagle and Francis ended with an Eagle cross missing the head of Defty by inches, right in front of goal.
Lowestoft continued to ouse a found confidence in their play and with the best move of the match and some sweet football, Defty and Henderson polished the move off with a great one two for Henderson to enter the box and slot home for a great team goal and level the score at 2-2 (49 mins).
After drawing level from being two nil down and with the Lowestoft fans singing their hearts out behind the goal, Lowestoft were in the ascendancy.
Enfield were trying to get back into the game but Williams was settling and looking strong for Lowestoft and Gaughran was winning headers.
Lowestoft were looking threatening whenever coming forward and Henderson was really on his game now, often cutting into the centre and causing trouble for Enfield.
A great flighted ball in from midfield by Okay, following a Lowestoft corner, found Defty but his deft header was right down the keepers throat from close in.
The Lowestoft fans were continuing to sing loud and proud behind the goal, with the team clearly responding to it and looking like the team most likely to score next.
Enfield made their first change of the game but with the exception of a shot from a corner going wide, the game started to quieten down a bit.
Lowestoft were still working really hard though, with Frew looking much more busy up top and Mitchell starting to win the midfield.
With ten minutes left Lowestoft made a change, with Cunningham coming on for Francis.
Lowestoft had done well to get back to 2-2 with some great play in the second half but their play was rewarded even further and deservedly so in the 84th minute. A Lowestoft corner was sent into the Enfield area and after a scramble close in, Frew poked the ball home to turn the two nil deficit into a 3-2 lead for Lowestoft and to send the travelling supporters into heaven.
The temperature was now starting to plummet and a few players were slipping on the surface but with Enfield pressing the Lowestoft defence held firm and the team were rightfully delighted when the final whistle sounded, clapping and appreciating the away supporters behind the goal, who dually broke out into a rendition of Jingle Bells.

This was a massive result and a great platform to now build on. The team showed great determination and heart to come back from two nil down and deservedly ran out winners in the end against a side who have been unbeaten of late.

The whole team deserve praise today but on an individual bases Williams settled in well and looks a good player, Mitchell ran midfield in the second half and Defty and Frew worked hard. Francis and Eagle also linked well down the left. However, in a wide role Henderson took a little time to get going but when he did he caused big problems and took the equalising goal really well in what was a great move. Therefore Henderson was my man of the match but closely followed by many players in red shirts today.
