Lowestoft Town made two changes with Spillane coming in for the injured Ryan Jarvis and Fisk coming in for Rossi Jarvis, who dropped to the bench. This was a change that saw Barker moved forward into a right wing role, while Cole moved across to right-back.
Prior to kick-off a minutes applause was held following the sad passing of Derrick (Chicky) Benstead).
1-0 Billericay Town Goal (11 mins)
With Lowestoft starting the game brightly and having most of the play, it was the visitors who took the lead against the run of play. An in-swinging corner was sent into the Lowestoft box and with it not being dealt with, Cole tried his best at the far post to clear but could only help the ball on its way into the net.
Lowestoft Town Penalty Miss (20 mins)
Henderson found himself in on goal, having been put in over the top and with him getting a toe to the ball the keeper brought him to ground for a penalty. Up stepped Spillane but his penalty was at a good height for the keeper, who duly saved his effort and made an even better step when thwarting Hodd on the follow up.
1-1 Lowestoft Town Goal (47 mins)
Having been unfortunate to go in at the break trailing, Lowestoft took little time in levelling the match up at the start of the second half. A precision pass by Barker fed Chris Henderson in on goal and with great composure he slotted the ball past the keeper to level.
Lowestoft Town Man of the Match – Chris Henderson
Took his goal well and ensured that the visiting defence had to be on their toes all match. Closely followed by the impressive Rory McAuley, who put in a very solid defensive display.
