Lowestoft Town 2 Tilbury 2 Lowestoft won 3-1 on penalties

The first half was devoid of any real incident with a Russell Stock glancing header from an Adam Smith free kick which was cleared off the line by Ryan Plom the neaerst to a goal. Chris Taylor chipped just over the Lowestoft bar for Tilbury and substitute Joe Clark raced clear only to shoot against James Marrable's legs for Lowestoft.

The second half proved more entertaining with Tilbury taking the lead in the 54th minute with substitute Harry Cook heading just inside the near post with his first touch of the ball after coming off the bench.. The writing seemed on the wall for Lowestoft when Tilbury added a second goal following a rare mistake by Jake Jessup. The young keeper failed to hold a low cross from the right and Emiel Aiken knocked the loose ball home.

With the game entering the final minute Lowestoft pulled a goal back when Jamie Forshaw hit the post and Joe Clark knocked in the rebound. Incredibly straight from the restart Lowestoft attacked again and Forshaw's header again came out off the post only for Stuart Ainsley to be on hand to hit home the rebound and send the tie into a penalty shoot out.

Jake Jessup then atoned for his earlier lapse by saving 3 of Tilbury's 4 spot kicks to become the night's hero. Ainsley, Adrian Forbes and Joe Francis confidently put away their spot kicks to win the tie for the Blues.
