Lowestoft Town FC - Headline -- Blues beat old rivals
Lowestoft defeated old rivals Wroxham by the odd goal of three in a typically committed performance on Tuesday evening. At times the game seemed close to getting out of hand with some fierce tackling by both sides. Lowestoft were gifted the opening goal in the 18th minute. Keeper Howie and former Blue McNeil impeded each other as they both went for a ball in from the left leaving Gary McGee an open goal.
Wroxham pressed early in the second half without causing the Town defence too many problems but they levelled the scores in the 69th minute with a right wing cross being headed in at the far post despite Dave Attridge getting a hand to the ball. Lowestoft regained the lead just 4 minutes later with an excellent ball down the inside left channel playing Jamie Godbold through but although Howie was able to parry his shot Ross King was on hand to turn the loose ball into the net.
