Lowestoft Town registered their first away win of the season on Saturday and joint-manager Ady Gallagher felt something special was going to happen.

After dominating most of the game but finding themselves two down against the run of play, the blues fought back with a Reed strike and a brace from Crow to win 3-2 in their first away win of the season. After the match I grabbed joint-manager Ady Gallagher to talk about the game, Danny Crow and the squad at present.

First away win of the season and a superb performance; you must be really proud and buzzing after that?
"Yeah, I thought all game we were excellent really. It was some of the best football we've played all season and for ninety minutes, so it seemed almost inexplicable that we found ourselves two down. We can't brush over that though, as the goals we conceded today were poor goals and we are disappointed with conceding those. However, we need to concentrate and enjoy the fact that we've gone away from home, played really well and from a situation we've found ourselves in a fair bit this season, we've found the resolve to fight our way back into the game and get the win. I said on the sidelines that if one went in for us then I felt something special was going to happen, as you get that feeling sometimes and something special did happen in the end. I'm really, really pleased for the boys as they worked fantastically hard as a unit and as a team we could have defended better but to go away and score three goals to win the game like that is pretty special".

You mentioned the poor goals from a defensive point of view but you must take some positives out of the fact that yet again they've fought back from being behind?
"It's the Lowestoft way as far as I'm concerned and always has been during my time here, as we've never given up and we're not a team that lies down, even when the worst is thrown at us. Today could have been one of those days when you look back at the game and think we should have won this but in the end we can walk away with our heads held high knowing we did win it and go onto the next game with a bit of positivity".

Danny Crow said he would need a few games to get his fitness and sharpness up to scratch; so if that's him short of both those things, it was a pretty special performance from him wasn't it?
"It's evident for everyone to see that he needs to be fitter than he is but they were two quality goals and his hold up play was fantastic, so we've got a really excellent signing. Danny knows he needs to be fitter but in fairness to him he's only played two games since last April and he needs to work hard privately and with the club to get up to the required levels of fitness. However, we're very pleased to have him at the club and his goals in this match gave us something that we've lacked a little bit this season".

Is there any news on what kept Haynes-Brown out today?
"He had a slight knee strain last week and to be fair to him he wanted to play but we took the sensible decision and the physios advice to rest him. As brave as players can be sometimes in wanting to put their body on the line, the reality is that Adam Smith is already out at left back and if we lost Curtis to injury at this point for several weeks, then it puts us in a poor position squad wise".

Omar Sowunmi looked a lot more settled at the back today and is he someone that you'd like to keep a little bit longer if that's possible?
"We're really pleased to have him, he's done well for us and has come in at a time when we've really needed him. He's a young player with lots of development ahead of him and he's played three games for us now already, so we're very pleased he's with us at this moment".

Lowestoft Town will be looking to add more points to their tally this coming Saturday, when they hit the road again to take on Gloucester City.

Come on you blues!
