You can now sign up for the Scholarship trials for the new academic year (2018/2019 season)!

The Lowestoft Town Football Club Scholarship Program is the perfect full-time course for any football lovers! The course offers the perfect blend of excellent education and elite football.

If you're currently in Year 11 or Year 12 and football is your passion, then this course is for you! All aspects of the program are held at Lowestoft Town Football Club, with the football training/matches taking place on the pitch and the education taking place within the clubhouse.

The Scholarship Manager, Matty Barbrook (ex Lowestoft Town player/captain) takes the Lowestoft Town Scholars for 10+ hours of football training and matches each week. With Matty's 20+ years of experience in the game, the Scholars receive top coaching and advice on a daily basis.
The Lowestoft Town Scholars will be competing weekly in The National League Under 19's Alliance, with games scheduled for Wednesdays at 2pm.

Our Education Partner is SCL, they run over 50 Scholarships with other professional and semi-professional football clubs throughout the country (you can check them out here: http://wearescl.co.uk). The Lecture, Sam Leslie teaches the Scholars the BTEC's and their core GCSE's if they did not pass in High School (English & Maths). Depending on the level of the Scholar's GCSE's they will either be able to enrol on the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport, which is equivalent to 3 A-Levels or the BTEC Level 3 in Sport, which is the equivalent to 2 A-Levels. Both BTEC's follow the same core units, with additional units added for the Extended Diploma.
It is a great link for the Club and the Scholars with Sam Leslie as the Lecture. Sam is a coach with our Senior Team and along with his relevant football experiences he is able to offer a friendly face to the Scholars when they get the opportunity to make the step up into the Senior Team.

In the picture above, you can see all the amazing benefits and opportunities there are if you became a Lowestoft Town Football Club Scholar.

We are proud to call ourselves a community club and what better way of doing this by giving young, local talent an opportunity to gain Senior football for Lowestoft Town FC (Bostik Primer Division, Step 3). FAQ:

I still want to play football for my local team, is this allowed?
Yes! We will never stop our Scholars from playing football, for any different club. As our fixtures are Wednesday afternoons, this gives our Scholars the flexibility to play for other teams if they wish.

Can I go to college and still join the Lowestoft Town Football Club Scholarship?
No, our course is equivalent to attending a college. As a Scholar you will be studying the same BTEC as you could at college but in an environment that doesn't feel like you're still at school.

Will I get an opportunity with the Senior Team?
That is down to you! If you are committed to the program, are a talented player and always have the correct attitude, then opportunities will be presented to you.

If I don't become a footballer, what can I do?
By completing the BTEC you will have enough UCAS points to go to University, to study subjects such as Sports Coaching, Sports Management, Sports Science etc. By achieving a Level 3 BTEC in sport also offers the following exit routes: Sports Coaching, Apprenticeships, Sport Jobs, Leisure Jobs & Fitness Jobs.
