Last week, Sean Galea-Pace caught up with Captain Travis Cole on last campaign, pre-season and the upcoming year ahead.

Pre-season is back, how excited are you to get going again?
It's been good to get back at it. From a social aspect as well because we've met lots of the new lads. The intensity in the early session has been good and we've focused on a lot of running so I feel we're looking sharp for the friendlies ahead.

How has it been for you personally, have you managed to keep yourself fit over the summer?
I've done a bit over the summer but I'm nowhere near where I want to be fitness-wise. But I've had a good rest and I'm raring to go now with a new team and a fresh start!

Is it a case of putting last season to one side and fully focusing on the future now?
Not necessarily put it aside because I feel I learnt a lot from it. It was a difficult year for everyone and I'd like to think it's going to be a bit easier this year. But I'm really looking forward to this new season!

What's your aim personally for the new season?
I'd like us to be a lot better defensively this season with the main target being as many clean sheets as possible. To score a few penalties along the way would be ideal too!

You were named Player of the Season for the second year in a row last year. Quite the honour wasn't it?
Yeah definitely, I was very pleased with that. Obviously the fans think a lot of me as well so I'm thankful to them too. But all the boys that were with me last year, we all stuck together and I was pleased that I was voted Player of the Season.
