It has been a mixed week for the Blues again with an excellent victory over Wealdstone on Saturday followed by a disappointing defeat by Kingstonian on Monday.

The Wealdstone game saw the Town go a goal down against the ruin of play before bouncing back with two second half goals. A spectacular Chris Henderson goal started the comeback and when Lubo Guentchev was brought down in the penalty area Joe Francis converted the penalty to seal the victory.

Just 48 hours later the Blues seemed to be suffering from leg weariness and were only a shadow of themselves as they fell to a two goal defeat. Again they fell behind midway in the first half but a second half revival saw was halted by the sending off of Andrew Fisk. Matt Nolan hit the bar from 30 yards with just about the only real strike at goal before Kingstonian broke away again in added time to net a second.

In a change from the norm Lowestoft’s game this weekend is on Sunday with a visit to Cray Wanderers. The ‘Wands ground share with Bromley with their landlords at home on Saturday afternoon. Last season the Blues returned from Cray with a single goal victory courtesy of a 25 yard Jamie Forshaw free kick.

There is no midweek fixture next week.

The Youth team were due to travel to North Walsham Town yesterday (Thursday) and next Thursday meet Harford CEYMS at Plantation Park.

The Ladies side collected another three points last Sunday with a 5-0 victory away to Ransomes Sports. Natasha Thomas hit two goals with the others coming from Nikki Wigg, Charlotte Eastwood and Sian Knights. They are in league cup action this Sunday with a home tie against Long Melford Ladies.
