Lowestoft Town Football Club are excited to announce the launch of our 'NEW' Football Scholarship for talented footballers aged between 16-18 years.


NOTE:- TRIALS OPEN ON 29th MAY 2015 AT BARNARDS MEADOW (NR32 2HF)

The NEW Lowestoft Town Football Scholarship combines the provision of football excellence with a full-time education programme.

Scholars will be signed to Lowestoft Town FC and receive a monthly salary*

What is the Scholarship Programme?
The Scholarship Programme is a full-time Education and Football Development programme delivered in partnership with Professional and Non-League Football Clubs. Open to talented footballers aged between 16–18 years, the Scholarship Programme is a must for any football enthusiast. A playing trial will be required as places will be offered based on playing ability.

Scholarship Football
All scholarship players will receive daily training involving individual and team coaching from highly Qualified FA coaches affiliated to the football club. Players will receive guidance on individual football fitness, nutritional advice and a regular appraisal to monitor each player’s development both on and off the pitch. Players will have the opportunity to represent the football club through the scholarship, with the aim to progress into the first team or higher.
The programme and Academic studies will be based at Lowestoft Town Football club, Barnards Meadow, and Waterlane Leisure Centre Lowestoft , Here players will benefit from an excellent range of training facilities and fitness equipment and a dedicated classroom for academic studies.

What Education Programme will I study?
Over the duration, players will study a variety of National Recognised Qualifications within the subject of Sport, Coaching & Fitness. Players will study both level 2 and 3 qualifications as well as FA Coaching Qualifications together with core skills in Maths and English. Successful completion of the educational programme will enable players to follow pathways into Higher Education at selected Universities and employment opportunities within the Sport and leisure industry, including coaching placements, apprenticeships and playing scholarships in America.

Who will deliver the Education?
The club have linked with Active Development Programme (ADF), a Further Education and Work Based Training Provider, who will be responsible for the management and delivery of the educational element of the Scholarship Programme. ADF currently work in partnership with other Schools, Further Education Colleges and organisations in Suffolk and Norfolk and have over 5 years of experience successfully delivering vocational and academic sports based qualifications. The ADF team consist of highly qualified and experienced Teachers, Assessors, Verifiers and FA Coach’s.


FOOTBALL

- Compete in the Conference Youth Alliance League
- Professional coaching by UEFA Licenced Coaches
- Emphasis on progressing Academy players into the First Team squad

EDUCATION

- Level 2/3 Diploma in Sport Coaching Qualifications
- Functional Skills Maths and English
- GCSE Maths and English (additional cost)
- National Governing Body qualifications
- New and Modern approach to teaching to support vocational learning

* Depending on previous qualifications and qualification pathway selected
