The draw for the first round of the Suffolk Premier Cup has been made with a blockbuster tie bringing Lowestoft Town and Bury Town together.

Lowestoft Town will face Bury Town at Ram Meadow in a blockbuster first-round tie in this season’s Suffolk FA Premier Cup.

The holders (Bury Town) will entertain their Ryman League Premier Division rivals Lowestoft Town, who they defeated 2-0 in last season’s final to avenge their 4-2 loss in the 2011/12 showpiece final at Portman Road.

With Ipswich Town opting out of this season’s competition due to other commitments, it opens the way for other teams in the county to reach the final.

First-round draw: Bury Town v Lowestoft Town, Needham Market v Walsham-le-Willows, AFC Sudbury v Felixstowe & Walton Utd, Kirkley & Pakefield v Newmarket Town, Haverhill Rovers v Leiston, Hadleigh Utd v Mildenhall Town. Byes: Brantham Athletic and Woodbridge Town.

Ties to be played on Tuesday, October 8, kick-offs 7.45pm.
