Lowestoft defend Sailor Brown Memorial Trophy (Sunday)

A Lowestoft Town Reserve/Youth side will defend the Sailor Brown Memorial Trophy this Sunday at the annual event held at Gorleston Football Club.

The 6th Annual Sailor Brown Memorial Trophy takes place from 10am this Sunday (27th July 2014) at Gorleston Football Club and is held in honour of the late, great, Sailor Brown who's name and memory will live long in the history of Gorleston FC.

This years tournament sees hosts Gorleston FC competing for the trophy against Great Yarmouth Town, Waveney, Diss Town and defending champions Lowestoft Town.

Entry for friends, family or supporters of the teams is just £2.00 with children under 12 and who are accompanied by an adult getting in for free.
There will be a food canteen open for all kinds of snacks; drinks etc and the club bar will be open from 11 am.
Car parking is free and there will be extra provisions for additional parking if required.

The schedule of games on the day is as follows:

(10.00am) GT.YARMOUTH TOWN v LOWESTOFT TOWN
(10.30am) GORLESTON v WAVENEY
(11.00am) DISS TOWN v GT.YARMOUTH TOWN
(11.30am) LOWESTOFT TOWN v GORLESTON
(midday) WAVENEY v DISS TOWN
(12.30pm) GT.YARMOUTH TOWN v GORLESTON
(1.00pm) LOWESTOFT TOWN v WAVENEY
(1.30pm) GORLESTON v DISS TOWN
(2.00pm) WAVENEY v GT.YARMOUTH TOWN
(2.30pm) DISS TOWN v LOWESTOFT TOWN

THE FINAL
(3.30pm) GROUP WINNERS v GROUP RUNNERS UP

The presentation of the Sailor Brown Memorial Trophy will be made to the winners after the final at approximately 4:15pm.

General game info:
- Each team will play 4 games in a league format.
- Each game will last 25 minutes with no interval.
- Roll on / roll off substitutes, but only one at a time.

Points are awarded for the following:-
0 points for a defeat
1 point for a scoreless draw
2 points for a scoring draw
3 points for a win

In last season's tournament Lowestoft Town progressed to the final after beating Gorleston 3-2, drawing 0-0 with Waveney, losing 1-0 to Caister and then beating Yarmouth 1-0.

The final was between Lowestoft Town and Waveney and with the match finishing 0-0 it went to penalties, in which Lowestoft held their nerve and won 4-1 to lift the trophy that they will defend on Sunday.

I can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday!!
