Manager Jamie Godbold gives an update on the latest goings on at the club ahead of this afternoon's match at Rushall.

LTFC Supporters

Following a weekend off and no home games coming up it feels an age since I’ve been able to update you on current goings on around the club so thought it time I shared the latest news with you.

St Neots League Cup

Possibly our best performance of the season so far? I thought we were excellent from the first minute and fully deserving of progressing into the next round. Kieran Higgs grabbed the headlines - and rightly so as I thought he was excellent - after bagging himself a hat trick and is another one I feel that is getting better as the season progresses. Dan Pinheiro was combative, neat and tidy on his full debut for the club, and I was also pleased to be able to give playing opportunities to 3 of our scholars in Wren, Fletcher and Hedge, with another 2 in James Lansdale and Cole Overy completing the bench.

Injury Update

Club physio Adam Woodrow has been kept extremely busy over the past few weeks with an injury list longer than my arm! Josh Curry being the latest casualty after injuring his foot against St Neots which didn’t seem as bad at the time. However, an X-ray the following day revealed ligament damage which will rule him out for the next 6-8 weeks. Im gutted for Cuz as he had been playing at a consistently high level since making the step up. He joins Jacek and Travis who have medium and longer term injuries. Added to that we have Smudger, Fisky, Bammo, Deeks and Schaar all doubtful for Saturday and possibly the next week too.

Players Out

I’m sure I was as disappointed as our supporters when learning of Connor Ingram’s departure. I felt his decision to leave the club based on game time was perhaps slightly premature, as ironically it would be very likely he would have started more games over the coming weeks which would have given him more experience, confidence and belief that he could play step 3 football. It was of no surprise he scored on his return to Gorleston as I believe he leaves the club in the best physical condition I have seen him in since he broke into senior football. Nevertheless, we thank Connor for his contribution and wish him all the best for his future.

Also leaving the club from the management team is Sam Leslie. Sam, alongside Dale Brooks, was a huge part of last seasons achievement of beating the drop and has been an integral part of the management team this season. I would like to place on record a big thank you to Sam for his contributions to the club here the past three years.

Players In

Rob Eagle - Rob needs no introduction to the supporters as he returns to the club following a spell at Leiston. I’ve always been an admirer of Eags having played with him previously and then managing him at Sudbury, and think he is exactly what we need at this moment in time.

Matt Castellan - Matt is a young centre half we have signed on a 3 month loan from Kings Lynn and a deal that suits all 3 parties (Lowestoft, Kings Lynn and Matt) really well. He has bags of potential and, having known him a while I know he has a desire to push himself to be the best footballer/person he can be, a trait that I look for in players.

Conor McKendry - I am grateful to Ipswich Town for allowing us to extend the loan of Conor McKendry. Conor has fit into the team and dressing room really well since his arrival, and think he will become even better the longer he stays with us.

Congratulations Rossi Jarvis...

For picking up Player of the Month for the second successive month as voted for by the supporters. Rossi has been excellent, both on and off the pitch, since his return to the club. Also deserving of praise for their September performances was Elvis, Deeks and Curry - Well Done Gentlemen!

Club News

Click Here to catch up on the news reported yesterday around the partnership between Lowestoft Town, Sentinel Leisure Trust and North Suffolk Football Community. This is an exciting partnership which will start to support a player pathway that has the potential to produce a greater pool of talented local players to represent Lowestoft Town at first team level. We are hopeful to be in a position in a few weeks to give you some more exciting news around how we plan to realise this.

Will hopefully see as many of you one at Needham Market on Tuesday night to support us!
