I got to know new signing Callum White after the right-back joined the Trawlerboys last week following his departure from Banbury United.

Welcome to Lowestoft, Callum. What convinced you to sign for the club?
I moved away to Birmingham for university and played for Banbury for four years. But as I'm finished university now, I was coming back to the area and was keen to continue playing football. I knew Harry Barker anyway and he gave me Ady’s number and I contacted him and it went from there. I used to play cricket and football with Harry and know him really well.

What can Lowestoft fans look forward to seeing from you this season?
I’m an attacking full-back and like to get forward and contribute. I scored seven goals last season and feel that's a major part of my game. I’m good one on one defensively so I’d say they are my two main strengths. I have a bit of pace and I like to use it to beat a man and contribute in dangerous areas.

What are your personal targets for the season?
It’s important for me to try and play as many games as I can but as a team it’s hard for me to say as it’s a new club and I haven’t had a chance to meet the players yet. But I would have thought that the play-offs has to be the aim and anything else is a bonus. But it’s important we don’t get too ahead of ourselves and take each game as it comes.

You did very well at Banbury United. Why do you feel you were so successful?
There was a good squad at Banbury and it was a nice environment to play in. If you have both of those then it sets you up nicely to help with a promotion push.

What is the greatest moment of your career so far?
I’d have to say promotion with Banbury in the Southern League Division South & West League a couple of seasons ago. We were awful at the start of the season and were something like 25 points off the play-offs at Christmas. But we then went unbeaten for the rest of the season and had a real togetherness which saw us finish runners-up and win the play-offs.

Who was your footballing idol growing up and why?
Zidane. He simply controlled the game and made everything look easy.

How much are you looking forward to the Norwich friendly?
I am because it’s Norwich. But then again, I know it’s going to be hard work and a tough test which will involve lots of running around but I’m sure it will be an enjoyable game.
